Ahmed bin Hamad Al-Khalili, the Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman, published a new tweet about what he described as the victory over the “greatest arrogant power” in Afghanistan, as he put it.

Al-Khalili said in his tweet: “The victory of the Mighty God that He accomplished for His Mujahideen servants in Afghanistan against the greatest arrogant force on earth – so the last soldier of the invaders was evacuated from it – touches the hearts of the weak who were stranded in their homelands and overpowered by the arrogant ones. Hope that Nasrallah will come to them.”

Al-Khaliji had congratulated the Afghan people, in tweets in mid-August, on what he described as “the manifest conquest and dear victory over the aggressor invaders”, after the Taliban movement took control of Afghanistan.

The Mufti of Oman, through his account on Twitter at the time, said: “We congratulate the brotherly Afghan Muslim people for the clear conquest and the dear victory over the aggressor invaders, and we follow that by congratulating ourselves and the entire Islamic nation for the fulfillment of God’s sincere promise, and we ask the brotherly Muslim people to be one hand in facing all challenges. And that their paths do not separate and that tolerance, harmony, peace and harmony prevail in them, and adherence to the rope of God by applying God’s just law… and rejecting everything that has to do with the losing law of the tyrant.”
