Palestinian businessman and billionaire Munib Rashid Al-Masri sent a letter of protest to French President Emmanuel Macron against his hostile statements against occupied Jerusalem.
Al-Masry said in his sensational message that he had restored the French Legion of Officer rank, the highest French honor he had received several years ago, in protest of French President Emmanuel Macron’s statements in which he considered Jerusalem the eternal capital of the Jewish people.
Here is the text of the message:
March 3, 2022
Honorable President Emmanuel Macron,
President of the French Republic
Greetings of morals, peace, justice and humanity
On the twenty-sixth of April 2017, I was honored that the French Consul General in Jerusalem awarded me, in the name of the President of the Republic, the National Legion of Honor in the rank of officer, the highest French honor since 1802, and I was pleased at that time with this honor from the French Republic because France has a special place in my heart. And because of its global presence and contributions to making peace, defending morals, humanity, international law and human rights, and fighting injustice, terrorism and racial discrimination in the world. And when we studied in schools about the principles of the great French Revolution.
I was deeply shocked by the statements made by Mr. Jean Castix, Prime Minister of the Republic of France, during your address, at the annual dinner held at CRIF on Friday, February 25, 2022, in which he “emphasized once again that Jerusalem is the eternal capital of the Jewish people.”
Your speech constituted for me a great disappointment, a feeling of great injustice and great regret, and you represent a country that we have always considered a symbol of morality, humanity and defense of the oppressed. The cradle of the heavenly religions, how can you deny the Christian and Islamic presence in Jerusalem, and the steps of our Lord Christ, peace be upon him, the Palestinian prophet, who was born in the city of Bethlehem and near Jerusalem, and how can you oppress an entire people that has been suffering from scourge for more than a hundred years, how can you You violate the resolutions of the UN Security Council and the General Assembly and the positions of the European Union of which you are a part. How can you violate the French principles and values and your permanent quest to make a just and comprehensive peace on the basis of the two-state solution on the borders of June 4, 1967.
Mr president ..
I regret to say that your speech constitutes support and support for the policy of racial segregation and racial discrimination practiced by the Israeli occupation state in Sheikh Jarrah, Silwan, Beita and all the occupied territories. And their hopes and hundreds of millions of Muslims and Christians around the world.
Your speech reminded me of the unfortunate speech of British Prime Minister Theresa May in 2017, when she celebrated the participation of Rothschild and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on the occasion of the centenary of the fateful Balfour Declaration. During the month of April of this year.
Mr president ..
Allow me to invite you to read history well, and go back to the date of November 2, 1917, to realize that the beginning of the Zionist conspiracy to occupy Palestine began with the ominous Balfour Declaration with which your state was a partner, and the Balfour Declaration, which established the racist approach as the owners of the land who made up more than 93% Of the residents of Palestine at that time with non-Jewish sects, and granting them civil and religious rights only, while he pledged to establish a national home for the Jews in Palestine unjustly. The world to arm them and establish armed gangs in order to hand over Palestine to them and cause the worst catastrophe in human history in 1948.
I also remind you in the year 1878 how the Muslim Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid II, through one of his governors in Jerusalem, granted the Church of Saint Hanna to Emperor Napoleon III of France a recognition of the favor and a reward from the Ottoman Empire to France. Today, you are repaying the favor in a way that does not befit the history of France.
Mr president ..
I am Munib Rashid Al-Masri, the son of a family whose roots extend back more than 1,000 years in Palestine.
I am Munib Rashid Al-Masry, the son of a family that provided dozens of martyrs, wounded and prisoners for the sake of Jerusalem and Palestine, including my eldest grandson, who was shot by the internationally prohibited Israeli bullet to cause a fracture of the spine and to remain a complex prisoner to complete his life with unspeakable pain and aches.
I am the Palestinian who has lived through the British Mandate and its crimes and the Israeli occupation and its terrorism, and the calamities of my people and the theft of my land since 1948.
I am the rebellious Palestinian in defense of my homeland and my right. I was hit by a British bullet in the foot and I still suffer from it to this day.
I am the Palestinian who worked for many years and saw France as a partner for making peace, and in 2008 I participated in the initiative of the French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Bernard Kouchner.
I am the Palestinian who aspires to end injustice, consolidate justice and morals, and fight terrorism and racial discrimination.
I am the Palestinian who believes in peace, justice, reverence for humanity and defending the oppressed.
I regret to inform you of my decision to return the French Legion of Officer rank to your country, which I received in 2017, expressing my strong rejection of the French Prime Minister’s statement regarding Jerusalem, and I call on France to apologize to the Palestinian people and to the free people of the world, as well as to recognize a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Your medal has been returned to you with a wooden mold made from the original Palestinian Jerusalem olive wood, which bears witness to the Palestinian Arab presence and is decorated with the image of the House of Palestine during the glorious Christmas. Al-Boni, which I brought to Palestine, in appreciation of the French culture.
