The Federal Center for Health Education said that toxic shock syndrome is a serious, life-threatening infection caused by Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus pyogenes.
The German Center explained that these bacteria enter the body through skin wounds and skin diseases, as well as wounds and diseases of the mucous membranes, for example, after childbirth and the postpartum period. The use of tampons (menstrual tampons) increases the risk of infection with this bacteria.

Symptoms of toxic shock syndrome are high body temperature (more than 39°C), headache, numbness, a sharp drop in blood pressure, up to circulatory failure and failure of several organs.
These symptoms necessitate immediate intensive treatment with antibiotics, fluid replenishment, and organ function monitoring.
