Hamid Karzai International Airport in the Afghan capital, Kabul, is preparing to resume domestic flights, tomorrow, Saturday.

On Friday, the Anatolian correspondent monitored the preparations taking place at the airport, before the resumption of domestic flights.

Tomorrow, the first domestic flight will depart from the airport since the Taliban took control of it on August 31, according to the Anatolia correspondent.

The state to which the plane will fly is not known, but local media indicated that the state of Herat or Mazar-i-Sharif could be the capital of the state of Balkh.

Specialized teams are working to remove piles of rubbish that formed as a result of the stampede during the evacuations, and other things that Afghans left before they left the country.

After the movement took control of the airport, a Qatari plane landed with a technical team on board.

Also today, Friday, a Qatari plane carrying technical experts and an Emirati plane carrying urgent aid landed at the airport.

Since last May, the Taliban has begun to expand its control in Afghanistan, with the start of the final stage of the withdrawal of US forces, and within 10 days it controlled almost all of the country, including the capital.

On August 31, the Taliban movement imposed its control over Kabul airport, after the last US soldiers withdrew from it, at dawn on August 31.
