The joint notables approve the law to develop the lands adjacent to the bath

The Joint Committee (Legal, Tourism and Heritage) in the Senate approved the draft law for the development of lands adjacent to the Baptism site for the year 2021, as received by the House of Representatives, with some minor amendments to it.

This came during the committee’s meeting, today, Thursday, headed by Al-Ain Ahmed Tabishat, head of the Legal Committee, and in the presence of the Second Vice-President of the Senate, Dr. Ragai Al-Muasher, and the Chairman of the Al-Ain Tourism and Heritage Committee, Dr. Nidal Al-Qattamin, along with Minister of Justice Dr. Ahmed Al-Ziyadat, and Minister of State for Legal Affairs Mahmoud Kharabsheh, and the Director General of the Baptism Site Authority, Engineer Rustam McGian.

The draft law comes according to its compelling reasons, given the status and historical importance of the baptism site as a world heritage, and for the development of the lands adjacent to the baptism site in a way that enhances its importance to be one of the most important and largest global religious and historical tourist destinations, and that contributes to supplementing religious tourism in the Kingdom, supporting and training local communities, raising their capabilities and providing opportunities work for her.

The project also comes to establish a non-profit charitable institution concerned with developing the lands adjacent to the Baptism site.

In another separate meeting, the Legal Committee headed by Al-Ain Ahmed Tabishat began discussing a draft law amending the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law for the year 2021, and the discussion of the draft law will be completed in a meeting to be determined later.
