Al-Bawsala – The Mayor of Jabal Bani Hamida, Muhammad Al-Shakhanbeh, confirmed that the villages belonging to the municipality enjoy tourist advantages in terms of the beautiful nature and its charming view of the Dead Sea, and there is the historical and religious castle of Makawer, which is one of the sites of Christian pilgrimage.
He added, in an interview with the Jordan News Agency (Petra), that these villages contain a number of roads that connect the area with the Ma’in baths and the hot waters in the Dead Sea, calling for investing these features in finding a source of income that will reflect positively on the municipality.
And he indicated that the municipality, despite its scarce resources, is working with all its energy to provide the best services to citizens.
He explained that the municipality put forward a bid to open and pave streets at a value of 300,000 dinars, and was able to pay off the energy debt owed by the municipality at a value of 360,000 dinars, and to establish a solar energy project at a value of 100,000 dinars, and to construct a second floor for the municipality at a value of 100,000 dinars, and to modernize and furnish the municipality’s events hall at a value of 100,000 dinars. 50 thousand dinars with the support of the Ministry of Local Administration.
He pointed out that the municipality worked to expand the roads and purchased 8 dunums at a value of 50,000 dinars to establish a children’s park.
Al-Shakhanbeh demanded the commissioning of buildings erected decades ago
On state lands for its residents, which would contribute to the development of the region and encourage citizens to stay in their villages instead of migrating to cities and surrounding areas.
He said that the municipality lacks development projects that help citizens to stay on their lands, which will ultimately benefit the national economy.
The area of ​​​​the municipality’s area is 267,000 square meters, with a population of only 8,000.
