The Parliamentary Finance Committee held a meeting today, Sunday, to set its work mechanism in discussing the reports of the Audit Bureau for the years 2018 to 2021, in the presence of the Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Ahmed Al-Khalayleh, and the Acting President of the Audit Bureau, Ibrahim Majali.

Al-Khalayleh said that the Audit Bureau is one of the institutions that enjoys the confidence and appreciation of the citizen, stressing at the same time the necessity of developing the work of the Audit Bureau and providing all kinds of support required to improve its performance.

He pointed out that the House of Representatives and the Court of Accounts are complementary arms and complement each other.

For his part, the head of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Representative Dr. Nimr Al-Sulaihat Al-Abadi, confirmed during the meeting attended by the deputies: Yazan Al-Shudaifat, Najeh Al-Adwan, Ayoub Khamis, that there is no tolerance or sympathy for any violation that is discussed in the report of the Audit Bureau, explaining that the latest will be reviewed Updates on the various outputs of the Audit Bureau and the procedures that occurred thereon.

He said that the outputs of the Audit Bureau included carrying out the following procedures: requesting the government to refer to the judiciary, referral to the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, collection and correction, and simple administrative outputs that we keep within the Bureau’s follow-up, adding that we need to finish making a decision regarding those outputs.

For his part, Majali said that the Bureau, as a supervisory body, works to preserve and protect public money and prevent infringement on it, pointing out that the outputs that are produced by the Audit Bureau are discussed with the concerned department.
