Dr. Marina Makisha, a Russian nutrition expert, announced that when you have colds, the body needs food rich in proteins.
In a television interview, the expert points to foods that help speed up the recovery process from colds.
She says, “Since the body needs protein, it is better when you have colds, which causes weakness, to eat poultry meat or non-fatty fish.”
The expert advises that vegetables and fruits should be eaten, as they help speed up the healing process, as they contain vitamins and beneficial nutrients.
She points out that the various cereal porridges are very useful when suffering from colds. Because the body needs energy to restore its vitality, which it can get from complex carbohydrates.
“When we have a cold, we usually add fermented foods and acidic dairy products to the diet to stimulate the immune system,” she says.
