In Belgium, a controversial legal amendment allows the judiciary to revoke Belgian citizenship from perpetrators of rape and organized crime, after the law was limited to terrorism crimes. Under the amendment, judges will be able to issue decisions to withdraw citizenship automatically after issuing sentences exceeding five years against convicts.
