Ammon – On Tuesday, the Israeli occupation forces continued their demolition campaign in the West Bank and the occupied city of Jerusalem, targeting homes and agricultural facilities, as part of punitive measures that affect the daily lives of Palestinians and aim to impose a coercive reality on the ground.
The occupation bulldozers demolished the house of the martyr Raafat Dawasa, in the town of Silat Al-Harithiya in Jenin Governorate, while settler attacks forced 10 Palestinian families to leave the Al-Sawana Bedouin community south of Hebron Governorate, according to Al-Baidar Organization for Defending Bedouin Rights. The occupation also delivered notices to demolish four homes in Al-Koum village, west of Hebron.
In occupied Jerusalem, occupation bulldozers demolished agricultural facilities in the town of Arab Al-Jahalin, and uprooted dozens of olive trees along the bypass road in the town of Idhna, west of Hebron, and threatened the uprooting of thousands of trees along the apartheid wall.
In Nablus and Bethlehem, the occupation forces demolished residential homes under the pretext of building without a permit, closing the demolition areas and preventing movement, and firing gas and sound bombs, which sparked tension and anger among the residents.
In addition, the occupation forces closed the headquarters of the Burj al-Luqluq Community Association in the Old City of Jerusalem for six months, considering the move an escalation targeting national institutions and striking the right of Jerusalemites to community development.
On the other hand, dozens of settlers stormed the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, under heavy protection from the occupation police, and performed provocative rituals and group activities at the site, according to the Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem.
