Amman – US Secretary of State Marco Rubio assured Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban that Hungary is not isolated.

This came during an international press conference in Budapest on Monday.
The United States is interested in ending the war in Ukraine and does not want to force any party to do anything, and is not seeking to conclude any deal.

Rubio said during a joint press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Budapest on Monday: “The United States is interested in the war ending, and we want to do everything in our power to achieve that. We are the only country on Earth that seems able to bring the two parties to the negotiating table. We are not trying to impose a deal on any party, and we are not trying to force anyone to accept an agreement that they do not want. We just want to help them.”

Rubio pointed out that President Donald Trump pays great attention to attempts to reach a settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, stressing that the US administration supports ending it as soon as possible.

The Kremlin announced earlier today that the Russian delegation received detailed instructions from President Vladimir Putin on the eve of its departure for Geneva for a new round of negotiations with Ukraine, which will discuss a wide range of issues, including territory.

The new round of negotiations between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine will begin in Geneva on February 17 and 18, where the Russian delegation will be headed by Vladimir Medinsky, Assistant to the Russian President.

On the American side, the US President’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and the US President’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, will attend the negotiations, while the Ukrainian side will be represented by Kirill Budanov, head of Zelensky’s office.
