On Thursday, the Syrian Ministry of Defense took over the Al-Tanf base, located on the border with Jordan and Iraq in the southeast of the country, shortly after the withdrawal of American forces that were deployed there as part of the international coalition to combat the “Islamic State” organization (since 2014).
