Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that nuclear talks between Iran and the United States brokered by Oman have started “well and are scheduled to continue,” in comments that may help allay fears of sparking another war in the Middle East if no agreement is reached. But Araqchi said after the talks in which he participated in the Omani capital, Muscat, that “refraining from threats and pressure is a condition for any dialogue. (Tehran) only discusses its nuclear issue… We do not discuss any other issue with the United States.” Steve Witkoff, the US special envoy, and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, participated in the talks.
