Amman – Axios reported on Saturday that the White House is planning to invite the Gaza Peace Council to meet, noting that it will be held on February 19, and that the administration of President Donald Trump has begun inviting countries to attend the council meeting.
Axios added that the next Gaza Peace Council meeting will discuss the reconstruction of the Strip, with the meeting likely to be held in Washington.
Meanwhile, the website “Axios” indicated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had accepted to join the peace council in Gaza.
An American official said, “This meeting will be the first meeting of the Peace Council and a conference to collect donations for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.”
Axios indicated that the White House expects this meeting to help implement the second phase of the settlement plan in the Gaza Strip.
The US administration has begun “contacts with dozens of countries to invite their leaders and discuss logistical issues.”
It is noteworthy that on January 22, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, representatives of 19 countries signed the “Peace Council” charter, which was established within the framework of the peace settlement in the Gaza Strip. The American side stated that other countries have joined the Council.
The Peace Council, or Board of Peace, is an international body created as part of President Trump’s comprehensive plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip. This council aims to supervise the transitional and reconstruction phase in the Strip.
President Trump personally chairs the Council permanently. The council includes prominent American figures and representatives from regional and international countries.
