Ammon – In the manner of Al-Khansa, in mourning her brothers, Dr. Aisha Muammar Gaddafi mourned her brother Saif Al-Islam, who was buried on Friday in Bani Walid, with sad words full of political symbolism.
In her obituary post, on her platform on X, she attacked the “treachery” that overthrew what she described as the dream of sovereignty and dignity and said:
You betrayed the mountain…the extreme corner of the homeland
You betrayed someone who refused to leave despite all the invitations
He preferred to stay with his country and its citizens
You betrayed the dream of sovereignty and dignity
You betrayed the last knight who received bullets in his chest
This is how my brave brothers accept bullets with their chests and leave standing on their homeland.
Let us pay our great condolences to the nation today.
She directed her words directly to the unknown perpetrators of the crime, saying: “You betrayed the mountain… the very corner of the homeland.” She portrayed her brother as someone who “refused to leave despite all the invitations,” stressing that he preferred to remain in Libya among his citizens until the end.
Referring to the circumstances of the death, which are still under investigation, Aisha said: “You betrayed the last knight who received bullets in his chest.” Speaking about her brothers, she added: “This is how my brave brothers are, receiving bullets with their chests and leaving standing on the soil of their homeland.”
She concluded her message with a symbolic invitation: “Let us pay our great condolences to the nation today,” transforming the brother’s obituary into a general grief for the country that has lost, in her opinion, one of its symbols.
The publication reflects the family heartbreak and raises the event to the level of a national tragedy in a speech directed to supporters and advocates of the family heritage.
