The Crown Princess of Norway apologizes to her family over her friendship with Epstein

Amman – Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit issued an apology today, Friday, to those she had “disappointed” amid scrutiny of her previous contacts with American billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, convicted of sex crimes, and apologized for the position in which she had placed the ruling family.

Mette-Marit’s contacts with Epstein have put the princess in the spotlight in the past few days, while her son appeared in court this week for several crimes, including a rape charge.

The princess was mentioned in Epstein’s files hundreds of times, and she had already stated in 2019 that she regretted communicating with Epstein, according to Norwegian media. The documents, which include email exchanges, showed that Mette-Maret rented Epstein’s home in Palm Beach, Florida, for several days in 2013.

Mette-Marit said in a statement issued by the Royal Palace: “I renew my apologies for the position in which I have placed the royal family, especially the King and Queen.”

The Norwegian Prime Minister said on Monday that Mette-Marit and other prominent Norwegian figures named in the latest published documents about Epstein should provide more details about their alleged involvement.
