British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab confirmed in a statement issued today, Friday, that the terrorist attack claimed the lives of two British citizens and the child of a third British citizen, in addition to wounding two Britons.
He continued, “Yesterday’s heinous attack underscores the dangers they face in Afghanistan and demonstrates once again why we are doing everything we can to get people out of there… We will not turn our backs on those looking at us in their hour of need, and we will not allow the terrorists to intimidate us.”
And the American CBS network reported earlier today, quoting an official in the Afghan Ministry of Health, that yesterday’s attack, which was claimed by ISIS, claimed the lives of at least 170 people.
Among these dead are tens of Afghan citizens and at least 13 members of the Afghan army participating in the evacuation operations from Kabul, which recently fell to the Taliban movement.
