In recent years, hypertension in children and adolescents has become an increasingly important health issue that warrants special attention from clinicians, families, and policy makers. Although high blood pressure has traditionally been considered a health problem affecting adults, recent research suggests that this health condition is increasingly appearing in younger age groups. In this paragraph, we review a recent scientific study that revealed staggering numbers about the number of cases of high blood pressure in this group. We also review the causes and strategies that must be taken to reduce it.
