The Vice-Chairman of the temporary committee in the club, Muhammad Al-Khaza’leh, revealed today, Saturday, the intention of Al-Ramtha Club to submit a “request for mercy” to the Asian Football Confederation, through the Jordanian Federation, in order to allow it to participate after ensuring the payment of the amounts owed to it, amounting to about half a million dollars. .

Al-Khazaleh indicated, in televised statements, that Al-Ramtha Club is facing “financial difficulties” that may prevent it from participating in the AFC Champions League for the first time in its history.

Ramtha, which was crowned champion of the Professional League on November 4, is the team entitled to participate in the Champions League, according to the instructions of the Jordan Football Association, but the union said that Ramtha “did not apply for the Asian license.”

For his part, Al-Khaza’leh said that Ramtha “did not submit an application to obtain a license because he was sure that it would be rejected in light of the financial crisis he was going through,” knowing that the fees for obtaining a license amount to $20,000, pointing out that Ramtha will hold a meeting, to discuss the exit. From the financial crisis he is going through.

The Asian Confederation granted Jordan one seat in the most powerful tournament in the continent in terms of clubs, as Al-Wehdat club previously participated as the first Jordanian club last season.

But the club that wants to participate in the Champions League needs the Asian license, which was granted only to Al-Wehdat next season, according to the decision of the licensing committee of the Jordanian Federation.

The committee decided to “grant Al-Wehdat club the AFC Champions League license for the 2022 season.”

Al-Khazaleh added that Al-Ramtha was facing two penalties imposed on him for not paying dues to players and coaches, as “the first penalty would have excluded the club from competing for the league championship during the last season, but (former club president) Raed Al-Nader paid the amount due, which amounted to 122,000 dollars. “..

He continued, that Ramtha is required to pay $ 300,000 to Algerian coach Mourad Rahmouni (he supervised the training of Ramtha in 2018), and for professional players Patrick and Marco, if he wants to participate in the AFC Champions League, which refers to the second penalty imposed on him.

After an absence that lasted for about 39 years, Al-Ramtha succeeded in winning the league championship for the third time in its history, after having previously achieved it in 1981 and 1982.

Al-Khazaleh said that the Ramtha club needs to pay $220,000 in favor of local players in the team, which are their dues for previous seasons, noting that the next administration “will suffer greatly as a result of the financial crisis.”

He added, “If the local players insist on their financial demands, Ramtha may be deprived of the local license,” which authorizes him to participate in local football competitions, referring to other financial demands on Ramtha Club from players and coaches who have dues.

Al-Khazaleh pointed out that the current management of Al-Ramtha Club managed to save an amount of 300,000 dinars during the last season.

The Licensing Committee of the Jordan Football Association, Ramtha, granted a local license conditional on completing requirements including “providing accurate financial statements where there is a separation of accounts and details of revenues and expenses related to football activity (Financial Standard A). These deficiencies must be completed before December 15, in order to avoid penalties and revocation of the license.

The Ramtha administration is preparing to submit a request to the Ministry of Youth to allow two separate meetings, proposing specific dates for the two meetings related to affiliation fees and the other for elections.

The administration has set the current date of November 27, as a proposed date for an extraordinary meeting to raise the club’s membership fees from one dinars to 5 dinars – paid monthly – at least as a proposed amount.

In the event that the Ministry of Youth agrees to hold the meeting, the club will open the door for affiliation, and the administration will propose to increase the one-time fees for membership from 15 dinars to 100 dinars.

Al-Khazaleh indicated that the number of members working in the Ramtha Club reached 650, but the number of paid members who are entitled to participate in the two meetings reached 561.

The Ramtha Club management will propose holding another meeting in the club on December 18, in preparation for new elections in the club.

The Ramtha Club is currently managed by a temporary administration, according to the instructions of the Ministry of Youth.
