Amman – The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) report on the winter transfer window for January 2026 revealed remarkable activity in Jordanian football in terms of international player transfers, represented by an increase in the number of expatriate players and the realization of financial returns from the transfer of players outside the Kingdom.

According to the global player transfer report issued by FIFA, Jordanian men’s clubs received 26 players during the month of January as part of incoming international transfers, recording a positive growth of 36.8 percent compared to the same period last year. On the other hand, 16 Jordanian players left for clubs outside the Kingdom, a slight decrease of 11.1 percent compared to January 2025.

The report indicated that Jordanian clubs did not record any direct spending on transfer fees for expatriate players during this period, which reflects their reliance on free transfer or loan deals. In contrast, Jordanian clubs achieved financial returns amounting to $623,000 from player transfer deals abroad, which reflects the growing value of the Jordanian player in regional and international markets.

This activity came within a global context during which the 2026 winter transfer market witnessed a record number of international transfers for the men’s category, as the number exceeded 5,900 transfers around the world.

Women’s football also recorded a new record in the volume of spending on transfer fees, exceeding $10 million, an increase of more than 85 percent. These indicators confirm the growing presence of Jordanian football on the international scene, and its ability to attract and export talent, which contributes to strengthening its sporting and economic standing.
