Amman – The Catalan newspaper “Sport” revealed, on Sunday, that the Spanish club Barcelona is studying the possibility of contracting with English striker Harry Kane, the German star of Bayern Munich, during the upcoming summer transfer period.

According to the report, the contract binding Kane with Bayern Munich until June 2027 includes a clause allowing him to leave in the summer of 2026, for 65 million euros.

The newspaper added that preliminary contacts took place between the player’s representatives and the Catalan club, in light of Barcelona’s desire to repeat a deal similar to the deal of Polish Robert Lewandowski, who joined the team from Bayern and achieved great success in his debut.

But for their part, German newspapers described the deal as “impossible”, due to Kane’s stability with Bayern and his great harmony with Belgian coach Vincent Kompany.

Barcelona is looking for a new striker to succeed Lewandowski, whose contract expires at the end of the current season amid a tendency not to renew it due to his advanced age (37 years).

Kane receives an annual salary of 25 million euros with Bayern Munich, an amount that Barcelona’s management believes is bearable in the event of Lewandowski’s departure.

The English star is also receiving interest from Saudi clubs, in addition to his former club, Tottenham, which is seeking to regain its historic top scorer.
