Amman – In a first appearance closer to an explicit statement, the Kia Tasman stormed the competition arena in the 2026 Valley of the Moon Rally, achieving first place in the most difficult rounds of the race, and stealing the spotlight from ancient cars that used to take the podiums of this type of rally. His presence was not just an experimental participation, but a clear declaration that Tasman came to compete and win.
The Kia Tasman was also able to achieve third place in the PT4 category, a result that reflects the car’s competitive readiness and its ability to compete with names that have long experience in this type of rally, even though it is its first participation in this level.

In the heart of the harsh terrain of Wadi Rum, between the sand dunes and the complex rocky paths, Tasman proved his superiority in the most difficult stage – the round that was the goal of all teams to prove their worth and technical ability. His superiority in this particular stage gave his victory double weight, and established his image as a true competitor despite it being his first participation in a navigation rally at this level.

What made the achievement even more exciting was that the car faced competitors with a long history in desert rallies, some of whom had participated for years in regional and global championships. However, Tasman was able to impose his pace with stability and confidence, benefiting from clear mechanical readiness and accurate navigation systems using the Roadbook and GPS points.

However, this victory was not a complete surprise to followers. When the Tasman was unveiled for the first time in Wadi Rum last year, its features and design seemed a clear indication that it was born to take on such challenges, and today, the victory came to turn expectations into a tangible reality.

The car was driven by driver Yazan Jumaa, representing the National Arab Automobile Company team, alongside navigator Mustafa Jumaa. The duo formed a harmonious team inside the cabin, and presented
A disciplined, professional performance in line with the rally’s philosophy, which focuses on precision and control more than absolute speed. This harmony between driver and vehicle was one of the keys to superiority in the decisive stage.

What distinguished this race was that the rally was held in conjunction with the Jordan Baha Championship, which gave participation a stronger competitive dimension and a greater media presence.

With this victory, Kia Tasman not only participated, but wrote its name from the first attempt in the record of the most prominent moments of the rally, confirming that its entry into the world of desert competitions was not a passing experience, but rather the beginning of a path that seems promising and tumultuous at the same time.
