The Speaker of the Senate meets the Ambassadors of Türkiye and Cyprus to the Kingdom Parliament

Ammon – Speaker of the Senate, Faisal Al-Fayez, met in his office at the Senate House on Tuesday, with the Turkish Ambassador, Yaqub Geymazoglu, in the presence of the Chairman of the Jordanian-Turkish Parliamentary Friendship Committee, Al-Ain, Yassin Al-Hassan.

The Cypriot ambassador to the Kingdom also met with Sevag Avedisyan, in the presence of the Chairman of the Jordanian-Cypriot Parliamentary Friendship Committee, Al-Ain Issa Ayoub.

Al-Fayez discussed with the two ambassadors separately aspects of cooperation relations between Jordan and their countries in various fields and ways to develop and enhance them and create broader horizons for joint cooperation, especially in the field of establishing joint investments, in addition to discussing the current conditions in the region.

Al-Fayez stressed Jordan’s keenness to strengthen relations with Turkey and Cyprus and to maintain coordination and consultation on various issues of common interest, pointing to the importance of enhancing economic cooperation and activating bilateral agreements in various fields.

The Speaker of the Senate touched on the current situation in the region and Jordan’s firm positions under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, based on the principle of establishing security and stability there, stressing the need for the international community to take effective steps obligating the Israeli occupation to implement all provisions of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, and to enable sufficient humanitarian aid to enter the Strip, in addition to halting settlement activity in the occupied West Bank.

For their part, the two ambassadors praised the great role played by Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in achieving peace in the region, the return of security and stability to it, and His Majesty’s continuing efforts to enhance the humanitarian response to the Gaza Strip.

They stressed their country’s pride in its relations with Jordan, and its keenness to develop and sustain them in various fields, in addition to the importance of strengthening economic and investment partnership, increasing trade exchange and activating bilateral agreements to serve common interests.
