Ammon – Today, Monday, Representative Firas Al-Qabalan sent a message to the employees of the General Secretariat in the House of Representatives, explaining in it his talk about employees in the House negligent in their work.
Al-Qablan stressed in his letter that he did not intend to offend anyone in his statements, but rather a very limited group whose number does not exceed the fingers of a hand, some of whom’s shortcomings may unjustly reflect on everyone’s image.
Al-Qablan apologized to the council’s employees if his speech had been misinterpreted or if people misjudged him.
Below is the representative’s message:
To the respected brothers and sisters, employees of the Jordanian House of Representatives…
A greeting of appreciation and respect worthy of your standing and your efforts, the impact of which we see every day.
I would like to clarify – with all love – that when I spoke to the media, I did not mean to offend any of you, God forbid, as you are partners in the successes, and an integral part of building the Council’s image and prestige before the people. Rather, I meant a very limited group whose number does not exceed the fingers of one hand, and whose shortcomings may be unjustly reflected in the image of everyone else.
I spoke with fervent enthusiasm for the Council, and with the aim of returning the suspended advisors to the field of work to be supportive of the Council’s twenty committees, and to contribute their expertise to improving the legislative and oversight work – this is a demand for the public interest, not a criticism of your individuals.
If my words were interpreted in a way that was not intended, or people misjudged them, then I am one of those who apologize to you, not those who are condescending. You are colleagues in the field and we are nothing but an extension of your efforts. Were it not for your dedication, patience and sincerity, no representative, including myself, would have been able to perform his work as it should.
You have all the love and appreciation,
We thank you for what you provide in silence and loyalty to this country and this Council.
Your brother
Firas Al-Qabalan
