“Islamic Action” demands the Prime Minister to stop the security restrictions against party cadres

The Compass – The Islamic Action Front demanded, on Sunday, Prime Minister Bishr Al-Khasawneh to put an end to what he described as “harassment” against members and leaders of the Islamic Action Front party at airports and border crossings, and to “end the security summons without reason or justification.”

The Secretary-General of the party, Eng. Murad Al-Adayleh, pointed out in a memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister, that the party’s cadres are still being subjected to the hands of the security services at the airports and borders, “in terms of restrictions by delaying their travel, detaining some of them for hours before they are allowed to travel, seizing some of their passports, searching cell phones and personal computers, and detaining some of them for hours before they are allowed to travel. Some of them are in addition to the security summons that party leaders and members are subjected to without reason or justification, as well as asking party members to submit their resignations from the Front Party in exchange for collecting their rights, especially in hiring their children and relatives, and this also includes summoning women from party members for interrogation, as well as the continued prevention of the party from Organizing public events and activities and preventing the party from using the state’s public facilities to conduct its activities.

Adaileh referred to several memoranda that the party had directed to the government in this regard, adding, “These measures are inconsistent with the most basic features of the rule of law and a clear violation of citizens’ freedoms and basic rights, and contrary to what is being proposed today of encouraging partisan work and supporting the partisan situation in the country, which is reflected negatively. On the march of the parties in this good country,” he demanded to stop these measures that harm Jordan’s reputation, according to what was stated in the memorandum
