Citizens in Ajloun governorate complained about the spread of potholes scattered in a number of main streets, causing damage to vehicles and pedestrians, especially with the approach of winter.
Member of the Environment Initiative Fakhri Onaizat said that the spread of these pits due to excavations of public services, including water, and leaving them without maintenance and rehabilitation causes damage to vehicles traveling on the road, as the driver is surprised by them and becomes dangerous traps.
Citizen Moaz Dwaikat pointed out that most of the streets in the governorate suffer from scattered potholes, calling on the municipalities to find the necessary solutions to these potholes and treat them before the rains fall.
A member of the Green Planet Society for Environmental Protection, Manar Al-Qudah, stressed the importance of addressing the dilapidated bumps and scattered potholes that cause damage to the streets, pointing out that the Ajloun governorate is characterized by a tourist and environmental reality that paints the most beautiful civilized picture.
The mayor of Ajloun, Hamza Al-Zogoul, said that the municipality has signed agreements with the implementing agencies for a number of projects that caused excavation to overcome this problem, which has become a concern for the residents.
He pointed out that the contractors responsible for these projects are monitoring the treatment of these damages if they are related to water and other services.
