The government raises the price of its advertisements in newspapers and approves the rate of land registration fees

The Council of Ministers, in its session held today, Wednesday, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh, decided to raise the price of government advertisements and government tender advertisements in daily paper newspapers, to become one dinar per word instead of 55 piasters.

The decision comes with the aim of increasing government support for daily newspapers, enabling them to find sustainable solutions and revenues in light of the challenges they face, preserving the rights of their workers, and enhancing their ability to compete with the rest of the media.

During the session, the Minister of State for Media Affairs, the official spokesman for the government, Faisal Al-Shboul, briefed on the efforts made by the government to support the media sector and overcome the challenges it faces, including the daily paper newspapers that are working in parallel to implement digital transformation plans in addition to their paper publications. In order to keep pace with the latest developments and technical developments.

Al-Shbul also dealt with the government’s efforts in the field of empowering media spokespersons, enhancing their role in dealing with the media and providing media professionals with information, pointing in this regard to the qualitative and intensive training that the government has accomplished during the past months; To empower media spokesmen in ministries, which will be applied during the next year to media spokespeople in other governmental and official institutions.

On the other hand, the Council of Ministers approved a draft law amending the Land Registration Fees Law for the year 2022 AD.

The amendments come with the aim of stimulating investment in the real estate and housing sectors, and increasing the volume of trading in the real estate market, by reducing the percentage of fees charged for sales and gift contracts.

Also, according to the amendments, the values ​​of fees imposed on land registration transactions will be determined, in proportion to the real values ​​of services and the purchasing value of the dinar, in addition to exempting subsequent sale transactions from land registration fees that take place through Murabaha sale contracts conducted by Islamic banks for real estate.

The Council of Ministers approved an amending system for the groundwater monitoring system for the year 2022 AD; With the aim of keeping pace with the challenges facing the water sector, developing the legislation governing it, and maintaining the safe extraction of aquifers.

The system also comes for the purposes of continuing to support farmers and the agricultural sector by determining the prices of water extracted from agricultural wells with salinity in all regions of the Kingdom.

The Council also approved the Beneficiary Register System for the year 2022 AD, which aims to identify the real beneficiaries of companies registered in the Kingdom.

On the other hand, the Council of Ministers decided to accept the resignation of the Director General of the Jordan Post Company, Khaled Al-Lahham.
