Whoever followed the meeting of His Majesty the King with German Head of State Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Amman, the country that leads the European Union, where the meeting witnessed this president’s praise of His Majesty the King for his wisdom and wisdom, which is considered an essential reference for Europeans in light of a changing world that has lost its compass.

With regard to the Middle East region, His Majesty has outlined the radical solution to the Palestinian issue, the central issue in the Middle East, by creating the appropriate conditions for the two parties to sit at the negotiating table with the help of the European Union, led by Germany. This is the main and consistent strategic choice of His Majesty the King, with the priority of a two-state solution for the Palestinian state to be established on Palestinian land. The other issue is the stability and reconstruction of neighboring Syria, because of its supreme Jordanian interest, for the stability of the northern front. And returning Syrian refugees to their homeland in light of Syrian stability, security, and economic recovery. This economic recovery will prompt trade exchanges and partnership agreements that serve both parties.

While welcoming the guest, His Majesty the King did not ignore the close cooperation with Germany in the field of technical education, training and qualification as engines of the Jordanian economy, and we are talking about a European country that is globally advanced in all classifications.

What we saw in this meeting did not come out of nowhere or out of courtesy on the part of the German President. The past twenty years, which the German President praised, have proven that His Majesty the King’s reading of the global scene in general and the regional scene in particular is an advanced, forward-looking and wise reading that you will not find in any leader of our time, especially since the drums of war are beating daily in our region.
