Hala News – The Director of the Narcotics Control Department, Brigadier General Hassan Al-Qudah, confirmed that the number of drug cases seized during the past year recorded a decrease compared to the previous year, indicating that this decline reflects the effectiveness of the enhanced security strategy in pursuing criminal networks and reducing smuggling and promotion operations.

The judges said, during a meeting today, Tuesday, at the Family Protection Association in Irbid, which included retired major generals Tayel Al-Majali and Anwar Al-Tarawneh, and the association’s president, Kazem Al-Kafiri, that the unstable security conditions in some neighboring countries contributed to the flow of drugs into Jordan, which constitutes a continuing challenge for the competent authorities, pointing to the continued seizure of large quantities of Captagon pills despite the decrease in most of the quantities of seized narcotic substances.

The judges stressed that combating drugs is a shared national and societal responsibility that requires continued coordination between security services, official institutions and civil society, and strengthening preventive and awareness-raising efforts to protect society and maintain its security and stability.

Al-Majali and Tarawneh stressed the importance of modernizing security confrontation methods and strengthening intelligence and field work, with a focus on preventive programs directed at youth and families.

For his part, Al-Kafiri stressed the need to involve the family and the school in prevention programs, while the association’s director of media and communication, Hadeel Al-Gharaibeh, explained that the plan for next year includes launching school awareness programs, training courses for families, and ongoing community campaigns in cooperation with official bodies and civil society.
