Hala News – His Majesty King Abdullah II chaired, on Tuesday, a new round of the “Aqaba Meetings” initiative, at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in Britain, in the presence of His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince.

The tour, which was held for the second time on airspace management and uses of drones, discussed ways to use modern systems to deal with common challenges in this context, and cooperation and exchange of experiences to ensure the safety and efficiency of use of airspace.

The meetings, which witnessed the participation of experts, CEOs of specialized international companies, and representatives of several countries, emphasized the necessity of updating relevant legislation and legal frameworks to keep pace with the rapid technological progress in this field.

Since the launch of the “Aqaba Meetings” at the initiative of His Majesty the King in 2015 to enhance coordination, cooperation and exchange of experiences between various regional and international parties, its previous rounds were held in Jordan, and in the countries of Spain, Albania, Indonesia, Italy, Brazil, Bulgaria, Rwanda, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Norway, Nigeria, the Netherlands, and the United States, in addition to the United Nations, in partnership with the Kingdom.
