Hala News – The Constitutional Court rejected an appeal that Article 191 of the Personal Status Law No. 15 of 2019 was unconstitutional due to failure to meet the formal requirements for agency.

The court stated in its decision issued today, Thursday, that the non-acceptance of the appeal submitted regarding the unconstitutionality of Article (191) of the law was due to failure to observe the formal conditions in submitting the appeal of unconstitutionality due to the invalidity of the agency relied upon by the appellant for the purposes of defending unconstitutionality.

She added that the agency did not include authorization for the agent to submit the claim of unconstitutionality, and thus the appeal becomes submitted by someone who does not have the right to submit it.
