Hala News – The Jordanian Standards and Metrology Institution announced the start of implementation of its monitoring plan to welcome the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, as part of its tasks and continuous efforts to ensure the safety and quality of products put on the market and protect the rights of consumers.

The Corporation confirmed in a press statement that its inspection teams will intensify their oversight tours during and outside official working hours, to include economic establishments in all governorates and districts of the Kingdom, with the aim of verifying that the products put on the market conform to their technical rules and standard specifications.

The control plan includes implementing large-scale inspection and field tours, where products that are in high demand before and during the holy month will be targeted, such as decorative rope products and pre-packaged packaged products of Ramadan juices and sweets. Verification rounds of commercial scales in bakeries, butcher shops, vegetable shops, and sweets shops will also be intensified. To prevent any violations that harm the rights of consumers.

The regulatory plan will also aim to intensify inspection tours of the clothing, children’s toys, and cosmetics sectors, in addition to cooking utensils and electrical and household appliances, in addition to continuing inspection of gold and silver jewelry and bullion to ensure their compliance with legal standards.

The statement indicated that the Corporation will continue to carry out its inspection tours during the holy month to verify the meters of fuel pumps at gas stations and the meters of fuel transport tanks, in addition to intensifying inspection tours of fillers and distributors of gas cylinders to verify the weights of the cylinders and their suitability for safe use.
