Hala News – The Ministry of Public Works and Housing announces that the modern lighting project for the Amman Development Corridor is currently in the final referral stage after the tender was invited and the necessary technical procedures were completed. The project extends over a length of 42 km and has a total cost estimated at one million and 400 thousand dinars.

This project comes within the national trend to enhance sustainability and raise the efficiency of traffic safety, as highly efficient LED lighting units powered by solar energy will be supplied and installed to cover the entire path of the corridor, with intense focus on intersections, entrances, exits, and sections that require precise vision standards in accordance with the approved technical specifications.

The new lighting system relies on smart lighting technologies that allow complete automatic control of turning on and off, in addition to regulating the intensity of lighting according to traffic density and night hours, and providing a remote monitoring system for the condition of poles and batteries to ensure rapid detection of faults and reduce response time for maintenance. The system is also distinguished by its independence from the traditional electricity network, which ensures continuity of lighting and overcomes problems of power outages or attacks on cables, while providing a storage capacity that ensures efficient operation even in cloudy weather conditions. This project represents a strategic step towards improving vital road infrastructure and supporting digital and environmental transformation in the ministry’s projects.
