Ammon – Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission, Engineer Musa Al-Maaytah, stressed the importance of clarity and concept of the color and political orientation of the parties, economically, socially and politically.

Al-Maaytah also stressed the importance of continuing the process of political modernization, and the existence of pluralism and political programmes, through the natural development of political parties, to reach the formation of parliamentary governments.

This came during a workshop organized by the Independent Election Commission, entitled: “Political Colors and Party Orientations,” with the participation of party leaders, and in cooperation with the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy, within the program to support democratic reforms in Jordan in partnership with the European Union.

Al-Maaytah stated that political parties are an essential partner in the process of political modernization, within the framework of applying the law, as there is no democracy without applying the law.

The workshop, presented by international expert Dr. Mohsen Al-Marzouqi, over three consecutive days, addresses a number of topics related to ideology and party electoral programmes, models of populism and humanitarian discourse, sovereignty and pragmatism, and the importance of programs in the positioning and sustainability of parties.

The workshop also addresses partisan trends, information technology, contemporary ideological transformations, and the mechanism for transforming these trends into communication policy.

The workshop includes practical proposals to review partisan and ideological orientation, in addition to presentations and interactive discussion sessions.
