When meeting with His Majesty King Abdullah II, Chairman and members of the Judicial Council, His Majesty instructed the formation of a specialized royal committee to develop the judiciary, and to conduct a comprehensive evaluation to come up with recommendations that build on previous achievements.
His Majesty the King has stressed the need to move forward in accelerating the procedures for deciding cases and resolving disputes referred to them, applying the provisions of the law transparently and achieving justice among all citizens – equally – without discrimination or favoritism, and issuing fair and impartial judicial rulings in accordance with the laws in force, so that each of them is decided according to its circumstances and circumstances, so that everyone who has a right gets what he deserves, and the guilty person receives a just punishment, thus prevailing justice in society as a whole. Which is at the root of the citizen’s confidence in the various state agencies.
Given His Majesty’s awareness of the importance and greatness of the role played by the judiciary in consolidating the pillars of the state of law and institutions, and consolidating the rules of good governance, strengthening and strengthening the independence of the judiciary was at the forefront of the agenda of His Majesty King Abdullah II. In 2000, His Majesty formed a specialized royal committee to develop the judiciary, with the aim of providing institutional and legislative frameworks that guarantee the preservation of the independence of the judiciary, raise its efficiency, and strengthen its immunity, including: This is to improve the conditions of judges, take care of their affairs, and enable them to carry out their duties to the fullest extent, by sending them to foreign missions, and involving them in specialized conferences and seminars, so that they can deal with the developments of this well-known modern era in which the methods of organized crime are developing day after day, in order to guarantee the rights and property of citizens, and to consolidate the values of justice and its various agencies and institutions.
Based on the firm belief of His Majesty King Abdullah II that justice is the foundation of the monarchy, and the basic pillar in building the modern civil state, he has always placed the development of the judicial system at the top of his priorities.
To this end, in 2016, His Majesty the King entrusted His Excellency the late Zaid Al-Rifai to chair a royal committee to develop the judiciary and strengthen the rule of law, with the aim of developing a comprehensive strategy to address the challenges facing it, and providing a modern environment for the judiciary and its supporting agencies.
Not only that, His Majesty the King called for updating legislation and procedures to improve the litigation process and save judgments, and enable the judicial oversight and inspection systems to carry out their role without obstacles or pressure, and to benefit from the best international practices and experiences, thus enhancing its ability to work within an integrated system with the rest of the state’s authorities and agencies enriched by consolidating the rule of law.
