Launching of the Joint International Gynecology and Obstetrics Conference Movement

Amman – The activities of the Joint International Obstetrics and Gynecology Conference opened today, Thursday, at the Royal Hotel, which is organized by the representative committee of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in Jordan, Palestine and Syria, in cooperation with the Jordanian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Jordanian-British Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and it continues over two days, Thursday and Friday.

The head of the body representing the British Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in Jordan, Dr. Mazen Al-Zabdeh, said that the scientific program of the conference extends over two days, and deals with the latest developments in the fields of oncology, infertility, maternal-fetal medicine, gynecological urology, endometriosis, and laparoscopic and robotic surgery, pointing to the organization of a pre-conference workshop on the diagnosis of ovarian mass by ultrasound.

Al-Zabdeh stressed that the collective effort between the three institutions in Jordan (IRC, JSOG, and JBS) embodies their shared commitment to developing medical practices, advancing science, and providing a platform for exchanging experiences between doctors working in the field of women’s and girls’ health in Jordan and the region.

He pointed out that the President of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Professor Rani Thaker, the First Vice President of the College, Professor Hassan Shehata, and the former President of the International Federation of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and President of the Egyptian Fertility Society, Professor Gamal Abu Srour, are participating in the conference.

For her part, the President of the Jordanian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists at the Medical Syndicate, Dr. Abeer Annab, said that the attendance of the participants reflects the shared commitment to advancing women’s health, enhancing professional cooperation and exchanging knowledge that makes a real difference in the lives of patients.

She added, “We are confident that this meeting will be a fruitful platform for learning, dialogue, and building stronger bonds between our medical communities.”

Annab stressed the Jordanian Society’s pride in Jordan’s active role in regional and international medical education, and its keenness to create purposeful platforms that bring global expertise closer to doctors and health care providers in the Kingdom.

In turn, the President of the British Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Dr. Maher Al-Maaytah, said that the conference aims to inform doctors, especially new ones, of the latest scientific findings in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, through 32 lectures and research papers presented by a group of experts from Jordan, Britain and Egypt, with the participation of doctors from Jordan, Palestine and Syria.

Professors and experts from Britain will participate in the conference, including the President and First Vice President of the British Royal College, and a number of British and Arab professors working in Britain, in addition to Dr. Gamal Abu Srour, President of the Egyptian Fertility Society and former President of the International Federation of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

The conference discusses the latest developments in early diagnosis of female reproductive system tumors, surgical treatment using laparoscopy and robotics, in addition to topics related to fertility, IVF, women’s health, obesity, and pregnancy complications such as recurrent miscarriage and premature birth.

The conference also includes a dialogue session on the increase in caesarean section procedures in Jordan, the region, and the world, moderated by Dr. Mazen Al-Zabdeh, with the participation of an elite group of experts in this field.

On the sidelines of the conference, a workshop was held on developments in ultrasound imaging and its use in early diagnosis of ovarian tumors, in addition to the opening of a medical exhibition with the participation of a number of pharmaceutical and medical device companies.
