Ammon – The Jordanian Anti-Drug Society (TJADS) confirmed its strong presence in the 2025 Africa-Asian Anti-Drug Summit, through its active participation in the work of the second day of the summit, which was held in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, with the participation of international and regional organizations concerned with prevention, treatment and public policies in the field of drug control.
During the summit activities, the association, represented by its president, Dr. Musa Daoud Al-Tarifi, chaired a pivotal session that addressed future policies and coordination between the preventive, curative, and security sectors, with the participation of experts from Africa and Asia. The participants discussed the most prominent challenges facing prevention and treatment systems, and ways to develop joint cooperation to enhance integrated efforts in combating drugs.
The Society, through Dr. Al-Tarifi, also presented a scientific working paper supported by a visual presentation on the Middle East in general and the Jordanian experience in particular, during which it highlighted the national successes in building community partnerships and implementing preventive programs based on scientific evidence, stressing the importance of integration between preventive, curative and legislative policies to achieve sustainable impact.
On the sidelines of the summit, the Jordanian Anti-Drug Society signed a memorandum of cooperation with Humanity One Africa, aiming to consolidate joint cooperation and twinning efforts between the two parties, in preparation for launching an African version of the Jordanian “Badir” campaign, and implementing future awareness campaigns aimed at enhancing prevention and community participation on both continents.
At the conclusion of the summit, the association honored a number of speakers and participants in recognition of their outstanding contributions. The president of the association also participated in cutting the cake for the first summit of 2025 and the “Istanbul Statement” cake, which was announced at the conclusion of the summit, in a festive atmosphere that embodied the spirit of cooperation and integration among the participating organizations.
Dr. Musa Daoud Al-Tarifi, President of the Jordanian Anti-Narcotics Society, said:
“The association seeks, through its regional and international participation, to transfer the Jordanian experience in prevention and awareness to a broader horizon, based on partnership and exchange of experiences. Signing the memorandum of cooperation with Humanity One Africa constitutes a strategic step to translate the success of the “Badir” campaign into a sustainable African model that serves communities and youth.”
Al-Tarifi concluded by emphasizing that the Jordanian Anti-Drug Society will continue its pioneering role in promoting regional and international cooperation, through preventive programs and initiatives based on scientific evidence, in line with the sustainable development goals and Jordan’s vision of building a drug-free society.
