Ammon – The General Secretariat of the Jordanian National Union Party confirmed that the issue of day laborers in municipalities has become one of the urgent issues that requires immediate and comprehensive treatment, after the workers waited for a long time over the years without a fair administrative resolution.

In a statement today, Sunday, the party called for the confirmation of all day laborers who meet the legal and administrative conditions, to ensure their livelihood and job stability, and to enhance the principle of fairness in opportunities and labor rights.

Regarding the employees of the Amman Municipality who were referred for early retirement without their desire, the statement said that the party’s General Secretariat believes that these procedures require a careful and comprehensive review by the government, and verification of the soundness of the legal foundations on which these decisions were based, in a way that ensures that rights are restored to their owners and that those affected are compensated fairly and equitably.

The General Secretariat announced that the party’s representatives had adopted a unified position within the House of Representatives regarding these issues, through coordination with the relevant committees, and exercising a supervisory and legislative role in a manner consistent with the party’s principles and its social approach.

Based on the national constants on which the Jordanian National Union Party is based, which are based on the principles of social justice and preserving the dignity of the citizen and the worker, and following up on the developments related to the cases of daily workers in municipalities and those forced into early retirement among employees of the Greater Amman Municipality, the General Secretariat confirms the following:

First: The issue of day laborers in municipalities has become one of the urgent issues that requires immediate and comprehensive treatment, after the workers waited for a long time over the years without a fair administrative resolution.

The party stresses the necessity of appointing all day laborers who meet the legal and administrative conditions, to ensure their livelihood and job stability, and to enhance the principle of fairness in opportunities and labor rights.

Second: With regard to the employees of the Amman Municipality who were referred for early retirement without their desire, the General Secretariat believes that these procedures require a careful and comprehensive review by the government, and verification of the soundness of the legal foundations on which these decisions were based, in a way that ensures that rights are restored to their owners and that those affected are compensated fairly and equitably.

Third: The General Secretariat confirms that the party’s representatives have adopted a unified position within the House of Representatives regarding these issues, through coordination with the relevant committees, and exercising a supervisory and legislative role in a manner consistent with the party’s principles and its social approach.

Fourth: The General Secretariat also recommended that the representatives submit a joint official parliamentary memorandum on behalf of the party bloc to the Prime Minister, which includes an explicit demand for the appointment of day workers in municipalities, reviewing decisions on forced early retirement, and making decisive government decisions within a specific period of time.

Fifth: The Jordanian National Union Party renews its full commitment to standing alongside the working class in the Kingdom and defending their rights and gains within the constitutional and legal frameworks, believing that the dignity of the worker is an integral part of the dignity of the nation.

Accordingly, the party’s esteemed representatives will deal with this issue with the highest priority, and in a responsible spirit that expresses the party’s firm position and its bias towards social justice and the highest national interest.
