A book entitled “Digital Cinema: Technical Transformation and Image Making in the Age of Data” was recently published by Amjad Publishing and Distribution House in Amman.
The book, which comes in 81 medium-sized pages, deals with the radical transformations that the film industry has witnessed in light of the digital revolution and the rapid development in photography, processing and production techniques, providing a comprehensive analytical reading in ten integrated chapters that monitor the paths of technical, aesthetic and legal transformation in the world of images.
The book begins its first chapter with a theoretical introduction that establishes the concept of digital cinema, explaining the fundamental differences between it and traditional cinema, and tracing the path of the historical transition from classical cinema based on film tape to modern digital systems.
The second chapter deals with digital photography technology, highlighting the latest digital cameras, processing mechanisms and digital calculations, in addition to the standards of quality and technical accuracy that have come to govern the contemporary cinematic industry.

Chapter Six discusses the role of artificial intelligence in the digital cinema industry, from script writing and data analysis to supporting production and distribution decisions, reflecting the industry’s transformation into an environment based on data and algorithms.
Chapter Seven focuses on digital broadcasting platforms and the film industry, addressing the rise of digital films at the expense of traditional movie theaters, and the transformations that have occurred in cultural consumption patterns and audience behavior.
Chapter Eight addresses the legal and ethical challenges associated with digital transformation, primarily issues of digital intellectual property rights, piracy, illegal copying, and legislation regulating the digital environment.
