Amman Today – The Minister of Local Administration, Engineer Walid Al-Masry, stressed the importance of improving the services provided to citizens during the holy month of Ramadan, especially hygiene services, to ensure a healthy and safe environment that meets their needs.

This came during his meeting in the Ministry building with a number of heads of municipal committees, today, Wednesday, to discuss plans to improve the level of services and enhance the readiness of municipalities during the holy month.

Al-Masry stated that the percentage of waste increases by about 30 percent during the month of Ramadan, which requires intensifying cleaning work and strengthening field work cadres and mechanisms, to ensure the sustainability of service provision with the required efficiency.

He stressed the need to intensify control over food, markets and restaurants during the Holy Month, to ensure the preservation of public health and the sanctity of the Holy Month.

He pointed out that the Ministry issued a circular regulating the official working hours for employees of municipalities and joint services councils during the holy month of Ramadan, aiming to organize working hours in a manner consistent with the interest of work and the requirements of providing service to citizens.

On the other hand, Al-Masry stressed the importance of completing the activation of the financial disclosure service on real estate electronically in all municipalities, as part of digital transformation efforts and developing services provided to citizens, which contributes to facilitating procedures, shortening time and effort, and raising the level of service.
