The Minister of Transport discusses regional railway connectivity with his Saudi and Turkish counterparts – Hala Akhbar

Amman Today – Minister of Transport, Dr. Nidal Al-Qatamin, held bilateral meetings with his Saudi and Turkish counterparts, which dealt with issues of regional connectivity and cooperation in transport projects and logistical corridors.

This came on the sidelines of the Second Transport Ministers Conference of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which was held in Istanbul, according to a statement issued by the Ministry on Friday.

Al-Qatamin held a bilateral meeting with the Saudi Minister of Transport, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, during which they discussed strengthening cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the transport sector, and ways to develop joint connectivity projects, especially with regard to regional railway connectivity all the way to Turkey, in a way that serves logistical corridors and enhances the movement of trade and supply chains in the region.

Al-Qatamin also held a bilateral meeting with the Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloglu, where the strength of bilateral relations in the field of transport was emphasized, and opportunities for expanding technical and operational cooperation were discussed.

The meeting also discussed ways to enhance regional cooperation and coordination with Syria by activating specialized technical committees that include Saudi Arabia, Syria and Turkey, in addition to Jordan, to discuss issues of transport, connectivity, infrastructure and coordination between the countries concerned.
