Sarrah News – The Youth Leadership Preparation Center at the Ministry of Youth concluded today, Friday, the second water rescue course, which was held at the swimming pool of Prince Hamzah Youth City in Aqaba Governorate, in cooperation with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority and the First Training Institute, with the participation of 20 trainees from the South Region.
The course was implemented as part of specialized training programs that the Center continues to implement to qualify young people in the field of water rescue, and provide water bodies with qualified cadres who contribute to enhancing public safety, reducing drowning incidents, and opening new work horizons locally and internationally.
The participants received extensive theoretical and practical training, which included basic rescue principles, general safety conditions in swimming pools, skills for safely approaching a drowning person, various rescue methods, and specialized first aid training.
Director of the Youth Leadership Preparation Center, Dr. Shorouk Al-Hashem, stressed the importance of implementing these courses in various regions of the Kingdom, to fill the need for qualified and licensed lifeguards, noting that the Center is the approved body for granting water rescue licenses in accordance with approved professional standards.
At the conclusion of the course, participants who passed the final evaluations were awarded official water rescue licenses in three categories: gold, silver, and bronze.
