Sarrah News – The value of returned checks during the month of January 2026 amounted to about 65.9 million dinars, compared to 98 million dinars in December 2025, constituting 2.14% of the total value of checks in circulation during the past three months, according to statistics from the Jordanian Payment and Clearing Systems Company (JoPACC).

The total number of returned checks was about 11.4 thousand cheques, of which 63.8% were for financial reasons with 7,284 cheques, compared to 36.2% for technical reasons with 4,136 cheques.

The number of checks in circulation in January decreased to about 407 thousand checks, with a total value of 3.07 billion dinars, compared to 570 thousand checks worth 3.85 billion dinars in December, recording a decrease of 20.3% on a monthly basis.
