Amman Today – Minister of Finance, Dr. Abdul Hakim Al-Shibli, confirmed that the government’s financial policy aims to enhance the resilience of the national economy, improve the investment environment, and facilitate trade exchange operations, in line with the vision of economic modernization, praising the efforts made by Jordanian Customs in achieving economic goals.

This came in a speech delivered by Al-Shibli during the Jordanian Customs celebration of World Customs Day, today, Thursday, which this year came under the slogan “Customs protects society through vigilance and commitment,” in the presence of the Director General of Jordanian Customs, Customs Major General Ahmed Al-Akkalik, a number of former customs directors, representatives of partners from the armed forces, security agencies, government regulatory agencies, and a large number of senior Jordanian customs officers.

In turn, Al-Akalik said that the customs slogan for this year is a well-established work approach, to which all human and technical capabilities have been harnessed to raise the efficiency of customs work and enhance partnership with various sectors, which contributes to achieving this slogan with the highest levels of quality, quickly and efficiently, through expanding the provision of services to improve the customs work system in line with the vision of economic modernization.

Al-Akalik expressed his pride in the complementary role played by customs within the system of economic modernization and societal security, which reflects positively on the national economy.

The Minister of Finance, sponsor of the ceremony, handed over the certificates granted by the World Customs Organization to deserving partners in the armed forces, official institutions, the private sector, and the Jordanian Customs Department, and honored the families of the martyrs.
