Authorizing the Amman Chamber of Industry to proceed with the procedures for establishing an exhibition ground

The General Authority of the Amman Chamber of Industry held its regular annual meeting, where it discussed the financial and administrative report on the work of the Chamber’s Board of Directors for the past year 2022, and they were approved by the attendees who witnessed the meeting, and the attendees agreed to authorize the Chamber’s Board of Directors to proceed with the procedures for establishing an exhibition ground.
At the opening of the meeting, the Chairman of the Chamber, Fathi Al-Jaghbir, stressed the keenness of the Chamber’s Board of Directors on the participation of the General Assembly in all the decisions and activities it undertakes, and to keep it fully informed of the latest developments related to the industrial sector, through various means of communication.
Al-Jaghbir referred to the interest of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein in the national industry through several meetings that brought His Majesty together with representatives of the industrial sector. Representatives of the industrial sector also participated in a series of intensive workshops held at the Royal Court, where the representatives of the Chamber drew the vision of the industrial sector within the axes of foreign trade policy through the necessity of establishing the principle of reciprocity and ensuring the smooth and smooth flow of Jordanian goods to export markets, and strengthening the presence of the national product in the local market, in addition to the need to remove conflicts between various legislations, and address the problem of high energy prices, in addition to the need to balance between Presence of skilled national and expatriate workers, and provision of the necessary financing for the industrial sector.
Al-Jaghbir advised that the chamber followed up many legislation, economic and tax laws, and draft laws amending some of the economic laws in force, as the council discussed the government’s decision to reduce customs duties.
He stressed the absolute rejection of the chambers of industry for any reduction in customs duties on imports that have a local equivalent, and the need to reduce the costs of industrial production and help the industrial sector in financing, marketing and improving the business environment was emphasized.
The Chamber organized a visit for an industrial delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where a number of meetings were held in Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah and Makkah Al-Mukarramah, where they discussed enhancing trade exchange between the two countries and establishing complementary industries, in addition to holding bilateral business meetings. At the food industry fair held in Sao Paulo.
Al-Jaghbeer said that the year 2022 witnessed the establishment of an operating unit at the Amman Chamber of Industry within the framework of cooperation with the employment project in Jordan and implemented by the German International Cooperation.
The conference also witnessed the organization of a large exhibition that witnessed the participation of major local and international companies in the field of detergent industry, as well as the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with the Crown Prince Foundation to launch the initiative (electronic internationalization of Jordanian factories), through the establishment of a laboratory to enhance the readiness of Jordanian factories for promotion and electronic sale.
With regard to the diversification of its services provided to its employees, the year 2022 witnessed the signing of a joint memorandum of cooperation with “Royal Jordanian” for the purpose of granting discounts and privileges to industrial companies with Royal Jordanian, which includes a 15% discount on travel tickets, and some other privileges, as well as the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with an insurance company, to provide a health insurance program for workers in the industrial sector, commensurate with the capabilities of each company and the insurance services required from them.
In terms of technical and financial support, the Chamber continued its programs in this regard, with the aim of developing the competitive capabilities of the industry in various technical, administrative and scientific fields, and in a way that contributes to the development of export capabilities for various regional and international markets, including a set of technical and financial support programs that benefited (26) industrial companies, and technical services benefited from them (939) industrial companies, and (10) activities and workshops were organized in which representatives of (533) industrial companies participated, in addition to holding (35) specialized training courses for the industrial sector through the European-Jordanian Institute for the Development of Business / Positive, the training arm of the Chamber, and (600) participants from the industrial sector benefited from it.
