The Parliamentary Legal Committee, chaired by Ghazi Al-Thunaibat, approved a draft law amending the law for the formation of Sharia courts for the year 2023.

This came during a meeting held by the committee today, Tuesday, in the presence of the Minister of State for Legal Affairs, Nancy Namrouqa, His Eminence, Chief Justice Sheikh Abdel Hafez Al-Rabta, Head of the Sharia Public Prosecution, Judge Dr.

Al-Thunaibat said that the draft law came in line with the constitutional amendments, which included provisions for appointing the head of the Sharia Supreme Court, organizing and developing the judicial inspection function to carry out its role in an optimal manner, defining the controls for moving from one job to another within the degrees of litigation in the Sharia courts, and determining the provisions for assuming The function of the legal judiciary and its conditions.

He pointed out that all the texts included in the draft are procedural and organizational, explaining that the committee approved the draft law after an extensive discussion among the attendees on the draft articles, especially those related to the conditions for those who assume the Sharia judiciary, the appointment of judges and the reasons for termination of service.
