The Director General of the Income and Sales Tax Department, Dr. Hussam Abu Ali, inaugurated the specialized training program to prepare the Jordanian tax expert, which is being held for the first time for participants from the private sector at the department’s tax institute.

The department said, in a statement today, Monday, that the program aims to prepare and qualify the tax expert to be able to provide the best services to the taxpayers who act on their behalf, protect their interests according to the law, help them comply with the legal provisions, and avoid them falling into any tax violations or fines, while at the same time preserving the interest of the department. Work to enhance voluntary compliance and achieve tax justice.

Abu Ali said that this program is the first of its kind at the national and regional level and aims to prepare a tax expert for the private sector according to the latest practical, technical and science experiences in the field of tax provisions and legislation in force and tax accounting.

He added that this program comes within the framework of the Department’s plan to prepare and qualify private sector experts, raise their technical, scientific and practical capabilities and skills in the field of tax legislation and provisions, and raise the level of their tax performance so that after passing the program, the expert will be able to carry out his tasks professionally and technically to the fullest in accordance with tax legislation. As well as the expert being able to educate and raise awareness of those he represents in the tax and contribute to the promotion of voluntary compliance.

He pointed out that the aim of the program is to qualify participants who will undergo scientific and practical tests to evaluate their performance, and after passing them, they will be granted a tax expert certificate that enables them to practice the tax consultancy profession and review the department on behalf of companies, establishments and taxpayers.

Abu Ali indicated that the Jordanian Tax Institute, in cooperation and coordination with Jordanian universities, will grant in the future the first professional diploma specialized in tax at the level of the Kingdom to grant an accredited certificate within the generally accepted standards, and this confirms the role of the Institute in qualifying and preparing tax cadres professionally and technically to carry out specialized tax audit work. In accordance with the legislation and tax procedures in force.

It is noteworthy that the Jordanian Tax Institute in the Income and Sales Tax Department is the first of its kind at the regional level.
