Formation of a team to count the damages of the Ajloun and Jerash fires

Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the Forestry Directorate at the Ministry of Agriculture, Eng. Khaled Al-Qudah, announced the formation of a survey team to survey the damages resulting from the Ajloun and Jerash fires.
He told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the team was formed by the Jerash Agriculture Directorate to begin counting the areas and trees damaged by the recent fire, whose losses were in the forest wealth in the Levant Valleys area between Ajloun and Jerash, where the fire started, and then moved to other areas such as West Sakib and Safsafa. And Karam Abu Eqab and others.
And he indicated that the ministry attaches importance to preserving forest wealth and forests, and that the intensive field monitoring plans have contributed during the last three years to a decrease in the rate of encroachments and fires on forests.
He pointed out that at the beginning of April of each year, a circular is made to all concerned authorities from the municipalities and directorates of agriculture, forestry, works and environmental police to start emergency plans during the summer, which include cleaning and removing dry weeds from the sides of the secondary and main roads to reduce fires and their spread if they break out in order to preserve Forest wealth, which is considered a national wealth.
And he indicated that the plans also include mobile patrols of rafts and engineers, in addition to monitoring towers whose locations were chosen to supervise the largest possible amount of forests, and reports received from citizens regarding any attacks or wrong behavioral practices towards forest wealth, calling for concerted efforts by Everyone and support the actions taken by the Ministry to protect forests.
