2.45 billion dinars tourism income during the first half of this year

Tourism income in Jordan increased during the first half of this year by 59.4%, recording a value of 2.4503 billion dinars ($3.456 billion), driven by an increase in the number of tourists, which reached 3.0258 million tourists, with a growth rate of 60.2%, according to Central Bank data Sunday.

The data showed that the increase in the number of tourists is due to “an increase in the number of overnight tourists to 2.4917 million tourists, with a growth rate of 54.4%, while the number of one-day tourists reached 534.1 thousand tourists, with a growth rate of 94.0%.”

During the first half of 2023, tourism spending abroad increased by 46.5%, recording a value of 642.0 million dinars ($905.5 million).

The preliminary data issued by the bank indicated that tourism income during the month of June of 2023 grew by 28.8%, compared to the same month of 2022, to reach 446.6 million dinars ($629.9 million).

At the same time, the data indicated an increase in tourism spending abroad during June of 2023 by 41.2%, compared to the same month of 2022, to reach 148.3 million dinars ($209.2 million).
