Representative Saleh Al-Armouti affirmed that there is no need to hold an extraordinary session to discuss the laws presented to the House of Representatives, indicating that the special session naturally requires exceptional laws.

Representative Armouti refused, in a statement to Al-Bawsala, to present controversial laws that require time and effort to the House of Representatives, and to refer committees and advice to specialists and experts outside the scope of the House of Representatives, which requires holding a regular session.

And he indicated that among the controversial laws presented to the House of Representatives in the special session is the draft traffic law that increases penalties for violators of traffic rules, stressing that it is a controversial law that concerns all citizens and must be discussed in the regular session.

Al-Armouti explained that one of the controversial laws presented to the House of Representatives is the Cybercrime Law, pointing out that the Eighteenth House rejected this law, and it was referred to the Senate and did not decide on it.

He added, “This controversial law expands crime, as there are more than 23,000 cases in courts related to cybercrimes,” stressing that the expansion of criminalization does not serve the country, so we seek to unleash freedoms and freedom of opinion and expression that are constitutionally protected.
